Application Procedures
  1. Go to 'Apply Now' and complete your application.
  2. On submission of your application, an Application Acknowledgement page will be automatically generated in which your application number, debit note number and the due date for settlement of the application fee and submitting the supporting documents etc. are shown.
  3. Do the following as soon as possible after submitting your application:
    1. settle an application fee (refer to the section on “Application Fee” below for details)
    2. upload photocopy of academic transcripts (full records of study) of your post-secondary qualifications; certificates of public examination results (including HKDSE & English language qualifications), and identity document(s) (e.g. HKID Card)
    3. upload supporting documents for professional qualifications and/or relevant working experience, if any.

To upload supporting documents, login to the admission website at under the “Already Applied” box, click “View/Update Personal Particulars” and then upload the files in the boxes provided.

Write your name and application number at the top right hand corner of all documents. Your application will not be processed should the requisite documentation fail to reach the School by the deadline.

Except for programme cancellation, the application fee paid is neither refundable nor transferable. If refund of the application fee is applicable, it will be made to the applicant directly. Request for arranging the refund to other parties will not be entertained.

Admission Policy and Number of Programme Choices

Applicants are not allowed to submit more than one application for PolyU-SPEED award programmes.

Each applicant can make more than one choice of programmes on offer and are required to prioritise their choices of programmes. Applications will be processed according to applicants’ preference of study.

General Entry Requirements

Holder of a recognised Associate Degree or Higher Diploma or equivalent qualifications. For specific entry requirements of individual programmes, please refer to the programme information.


  1. The main medium of instruction of the study programme concerned should be English. Applicant who has completed the programme with other languages as the main medium of instruction should attain the following English Language requirement: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 (paper based); 80 (Internet based).
  2. An applicant who does not possess the above-mentioned qualification but has reached the age of 25 before 1 September, in the year in which he/she seeks admission, may apply as a mature applicant. He/she must demonstrate sufficient motivation, knowledge and potential to indicate a high probability of being able to complete the programme successfully.
Application Fee
The application fee is HK$200, which is non-refundable and non-transferable. Please settle the application fee as soon as you have submitted the application and by the specified due date.
Only paid applications will be processed. Applicants can login to the OAA to check the payment status 2 working days (for payment made in Hong Kong) after the payment.

Acceptable payment methods include (i) PolyU Online Payment Portal, (ii) ATM Bill Payment Service, (iii) PPS Bill Payment Service, (iv) Internet Banking Bill Payment Service (including Credit Card), (v) Flywire 飞汇 (for payments outside Hong Kong. Admission of Non-local Students

"Non-local student" is defined as students holding -
(a) student visa/ entry permit; OR
(b) visa/ entry permit under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates; OR
(c) dependent visa/ entry permit who were 18 years old or above when they were issued with such visa/ entry permit by the Director of Immigration of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR);OR
(d) recognizance form

Non-local applicants who possess only a visitor or tourist visa/ entry permit can neither be registered as students nor commences their studies until they have obtained valid student visas/ entry permits. If one holds a work visa/ entry permit and takes up a part-time programme, he/ she will be regarded as a local student. Throughout the course of study, it is the responsibility of individual students to ensure that their visas/ entry permits are valid.

Non-local students are not eligible for financial assistance of any kind provided by the HKSAR Government. Apart from tuition fee, there will be other expenses such as those for air tickets, accommodation, local transportation, insurance and textbooks etc.

Selection of Applicants

Applications will be considered on the basis of the information (such as academic, professional qualifications and work experience) provided in the application form. Interview and/or admission test as part of the selection process may be arranged and shortlisted applicants will be notified via email or by phone.

Additional information supplied after the commencement of this process will be considered only if time permits.

Change of Programme Choices

In case applicants decide to change their indicated choices after submission of applications, they should submit a request according to the prevailing procedure to the School. The School reserves the right not to consider any requests submitted after commencement of the selection process.

Request for change of programme choices, if any, will be considered once only for each applicant.

Verification of Qualifications

The qualifications stated in the form will be verified by checking of the original documents at the time of registration. Provision of any false or misleading information or failure to supply the full documentation for verification will lead to DISQUALIFICATION of the admission application and any offer made will be declared null and void. All fees paid will NOT be refunded.

Announcement of Application Results

Application results will be announced via this Online Admission System. Successful applicants will receive an official notification via e-mail normally about two weeks upon receipt of all required supporting documents and/or, if any, after the admission interview/ test.

Applicants who do not receive notification by end of the admission exercise, may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.

Cancellation of Programmes

The School reserves the right to cancel any programmes in which case all fees paid by applicants will be refunded.
